A Word About the Jackets ...

The brown/black organza jacket with the gold iris design is laminated composition gold leaf. I wanted to do a trial jacket using the composition gold leaf before I used the 22k gold leaf.

Another jacket completed.
This kimono style jacket is made of black/brown silk organza. I have painted decorative strips of color and toned them down by covering them with a strip of silk organza in the same black/brown color. This photo is the back of the jacket ... it is transparent, you can see the decorative strip on the left front of the jacket through all the layers.

A doublefaced fleece coat and a silk charmeuse jacket. I don't limit myself to one particular surface design method. I like so many different looks ... and they require different means to attain.

Here are a few of the jackets I have made. The orange/yellow/fuscia is silk habotai dyed with fiber reactive dye. The lavender/turquoise/teal is linen dyed with f/r dye. The neckband has wool thick/thin yarn and beads on it. The black jackets are silk crepe with the design painted on with textile paints.
Whew! Time flies when you're having fun! I have been busy in my studio; trying out new ideas, testing, testing, testing! I'll post some photos of the new jackets I've been making.
